A proximity key (also named Intelligent Key, Smart Key, Keyless Go or Push-to-Start) is a remote shaped device that permits a key-less entrance and ignition mechanism in your vehicle.
When owner is within the relevant distance, the key-less entry interacts through radio-frequency waves with your car computer to lock and unlock doors and trunk and even to crank the car engine having the key in the pocket.
30 years ago in 1998, Mercedes-Benz was the first to present this system in the market.
